As we look forward to our fall 2018 start dates, we are in need of coaches.  Without parents or community members willing to coach, we are looking at not being able to offer an Artistic, REC Trampoline & Tumbling and Parkour program next year.

To be a gymnastics coach, training is required.  Training is offered through Alberta Gymnastics Federation.  It can be costly, so to help compensate, the Cardston Gymnastics Club will pay for courses after a certain commitment level has been met by the coach.  The commitment we are looking for is a minimum of 2 years coaching and the course reimbursement timeline can be negotiated to meet the needs of both you and the club.

Our goal would be to find 4 moms/dads/community members willing to coach one afternoon/evening (3:30-6:00 ish).  By finding a few people, it spreads out the commitment level.  We would do our best to arrange your coaching time to be when you have a child in the gym (if you prefer that).

Coaches receive reduced registration fees (discount of $100 per hour coaching) and very reasonable pay (pay is determined upon qualifications of the coach – First Aid is definitely a plus as a qualification).

Responsibilities fro the season starts the end of August (with setting up equipment and staff meeting).  Coaching starts the Tuesday after labor day (same day school starts) and runs 10 weeks (usually middle of November).  We then set back up just before school starts in January, then run another 10 weeks to the middle of March.

As a coach you are responsible for understanding the level/class you are coaching, creating lesson plans, organizing the class and keeping all athletes safe.
